How do I purchase the Full Version of Family Historian?
When you run the Starter Edition, the first window that normally appears has the title “Welcome to the Starter Edition”. This window has 3 buttons. Click the middle ‘Upgrade’ button and follow the instructions. If there is no Welcome window, click on the ‘Upgrade to the Full Version’ menu command on the Help menu instead. After payment has been taken you will be emailed an unlock key. Simply enter this key into the software, following the instructions provided in the email, to upgrade the starter edition to the full version.
What is the difference between the Starter Edition and the Full Version?
The Starter Edition is limited to 100 Individual records in each file or project. There is no such limit in the Full Version. Also, users of the Full Version can install and run dozens of free ‘plugins’ from the Family Historian Plugin Store. Plugins extend the power of the program and add more features. To learn more, see ‘Plugins’ on the Tools menu within the program. Plugins do not work with the Starter Edition.
