Getting the Most from Family Historian Software: online tutorial given by John Hanson of the Society of Genealogists
The list of new features and changes is quite extensive so this tutorial will cover a number of issues and should suit both those who are existing users and those either looking for a change from their existing one or a new one entirely. The list of new features includes some interesting ones:
Integrated Word Processing, new source templates, source transcription tools and source driven data entry, new additional language options, improvements (and additions to) Diagrams, Reports, Facts, Flags, Maps and lots more.
The aim will be to highlight the major changes and to explore whether as an existing user you need to make changes. The software package should not be confused with any other package and is solely about the package from Calico Pie.
About the speaker: John Hanson worked for many years for one of the country’s major banks, ending up as a Systems Specialist in mainframe databases. He took early retirement in 2001 with the intention of concentrating on his own family history but has failed! John has written extensively on family history subjects and has been a lecturer and teacher in family history for over twenty years.
He served on the executive committee of the Guild of One-Names studies for several years and also as a trustee and served on many committees at the Society of Genealogists. He is currently the research director of the Halsted Trust and is a Fellow of SoG.
The session will be held online via Zoom.? Learn more…
