Family Historian supports GEDCOM 7: the latest version of the global standard file format for shared genealogy data, created by FamilySearch. The GEDCOM 7 file format is supported for both import and export. Family Historian also supports GEDZIP, another new file format that was introduced as part of the GEDCOM 7 specification. GEDZIP is an important addition as, for the first time, it defines a standard for transferring both data and media files together in a single file. Again, GEDZIP is supported for both import and export.
