Version 8 of Family Historian extends and enhances support for plugins in various important ways, not least in its support for a new kind of plugin in addition to the usual kind.  Prior to version 8 there were already 3 special plugin types: Language Plugins, Report Plugins and Source-driven Data Entry Plugins.  Now, in version 8, a 4th special plugin type has been added:

As well as the new plugin type, version 8 adds a new object, Named List, and some new functions (see below).  The Named List object is used to access information in Family Historian Named Lists. The Section object now has a new method, SetOwner, and it's AddPicture method now has an extra optional parameter.

Family Historian 8 is now 64 bit.  All Lua components now use 64 bit dlls instead of 32 bit dlls..
