The Item Settings Dialog is displayed whenever an item is selected and
the button clicked in the Edit
Book Dialog. It can have various tabs or just one.
The actual tabs vary depending on the item type. But all items
always have at least one tab: the Item
tab.
The dialog is similar to the Report
Options Dialog for reports displayed in the Reports Window - and
indeed many of the tabs will be the same as the tabs used in that
dialog, when a report item's settings are viewed. However, even in
that case there are some differences. Whereas with a report in the
Reports Window, all settings are accessible in the Report
Options Dialog, this is not the case with the Item Settings
Dialog. In the latter case, any settings which apply to the entire
book (e.g. headers, footers, margins, and so on) will be set in the Book Settings Dialog, and not in
the Item Settings Dialog.
