Records Window

Configure Columns Dialog

The Configure Columns Dialog allows you to choose the columns you wish to see displayed in the Records Window or in a particular Named List. The same columns are also used in the record selector dialogs, and other contexts - such as the Media Records List in the Media Window.

The first column only in each case is fixed and not configurable.

Select any column in the list on the left-hand side and press the '>' key to add it to the selected list. Use the 'Move Up' and Move Down' arrow buttons below the list on the right-hand side to re-order columns.

Select a column on the right-hand side and click 'Edit' if you wish to change its label or sort order, or other details.

If the column you want is not already in the list, select '<Other>…' and click on '>'.

You can save column settings as a query, or load the columns used in an existing query. If the column settings use complex expressions which require a parameter to be supplied, the column will be blank.

Named Lists can contain records of different types. If you wish you can use columns which are applicable to one record type, even though the list may also contain records of other types. A Sex column, for example, would simply be blank for any rows containing records of types such as 'Source', 'Family', etc.
