Nothing beats checking your database stats - this saves me so much time.

Is it possible to allow the user to decide where the resulting file is put?
I have a FMP subscription and have checked most of my missing records there.  If I could put the file onto a memory stick I could take it to the library and check them on Ancestry.
I have found the file a couple of times but it is fiddly and it would be better if I could give it a memorable name.

@DaveT  You can always use the Save As option on your Web Browser to save it to your USB stick.

Hi Jane

You must be a mind reader  - I was just sitting down to find a duplicate finder for Custom ID and found you’d just done it.

May I suggest a minor refinement?

I find it useful to know what the actual duplicate REFN is.

(Simply because some of my entries have a duplicate generic family identifier until I get chance to fill them in properly)

I added 3 lines:

local tblDup3 = {}              -- Table to store the custom ID

table.insert(tblDup3,strId)  -- Store the custom ID

fhOutputResultSetColumn('Refn', 'text', tblDup3, #tblDup1)  --Display the custom ID

Many thanks for an excellent plugin

A very useful plugin. May I make a request for an additional facility, please?

I use Picasa to edit my multimedia images but Picasa creates thumbnails which are then picked up by this plugin as "Unlinked" media files. Would it be possible to extend the plugin to exclude any Picasa folders? On my iMac the folders are all called ".picasaoriginals" (including the leading full stop). I don't know what they would be called on a PC.

Thanks.

I like the presentation of the data but really wanted included an adjacent  timeline which could be shown against corresponding events in social history that would come from a static text file but maintained by the user. Is there anything being considered please?

Also multiple members of the same family would be interesting!

Jane,

I'm trying to get the ftp plugin working.  The plugin fails to make the connection. The working settings from my existing ftp program FileZilla are:

Host: ftp.shortland.info
Port: Blank
Default Remote Directory: /web
Logon Type: Normal
User: shortland.info
Password: ***

Can you think of anything that might be wrong?

Nick.

I've used FH for many years and have always linked photos to their designated location on my computer rather than copying them to the project folder, which seemed an unnecessary use of space on the hard drive. However, when a new computer was in the offing I realised that I risked breaking all the links. This plugin sorted the problem quickly and efficiently, copying them all safely to the Media folder within the project. I can now copy the project across to the new computer confident in the knowledge that it will arrive intact. Many thanks.

This is such a useful plug in but I was wondering how complicated it would be to edit it to add the citation as secondary evidence with today's date as at the moment I have to remember to manually do this each time.

I tried this plug in and it works for most, but I cannot get this plug in to work for Gayle, Yorkshire, UK so installed the  map geo-code maintenance plug in!!!  I have used the coordinates that google maps recognise externally - but inputting and saving the lat and long in the plug in still gives me a map of Houston in the US !!
