Cancel Query |
This button is usually greyed. It is only available when you are running a query that is taking a while to execute. In this case, you can click on this button to cancel the query. Most queries execute so quickly that there is no time, and no need, to cancel them. |
Print |
Print the current query. You can also use the Print command on the File menu. They do the same thing. |
Print
Preview |
Display the Print Preview window, to show how the current query will look when printed. You can also use the Print Preview command on the File menu. They do the same thing. |
Copy Selected Cells |
When you have run a query, you can click-and-drag to select a group of cells in the Result Set tab. Click on Copy Selected Cells to copy the cells to the clipboard. The data is held in a format which should make it suitable for pasting into most spreadsheets. This means that you can use queries (and Copy Selected Cells) as a quick way of transferring data from your Family Historian file to a spreadsheet for analysis, or to make use of spreadsheet graphical tools. Tip: A quick way to select a range of cells is to click on the top-left cell in the range, then hold down the shift key and click on the bottom-right cell in the range. |
Locate in Property Box |
If the selected cell shows 'data-linked' text (i.e. it
represents an actual record or field, rather than displaying a
calculated value, say), this command will locate the record or
field in the Property Box. |
