Surname Surname
First First name
Given The given name is the always first name, unless a 'name used' value has been provided, in which case that is the given name, or unless the first name is the surname, in which case the given name is the first non-surname word in the name.
Given All All given names - ie. everything except the surname.
Middle All middle names - i.e. everything except the first name and the surname.
Full Full name
Surname First Full name, with the surname first, separated from the rest of the name by a comma.
Preferred Given name and surname (see also description for 'given name').
Adorned Given name and surname, preceded by name prefix, if any, and followed by name suffix, if any.
Prefixed Given name and surname, preceded by name prefix, if any.
Suffixed Given name and surname, followed by name suffix, if any.
Adorned (full) Full name preceded by name prefix, if any, and followed by name suffix, if any.
Prefixed (full) Full name preceded by name prefix, if any.
Suffixed (full) Full name followed by name suffix, if any.
Stored Displays name exactly as it is stored in your records - e.g. "John /Smith/" will display as "John /Smith/".
Soundex Soundex is a system designed to encode surnames so that names that sound alike have the same code. By sorting on a name's soundex you should find that like- sounding names are grouped together.
