We saw earlier (in How to Record Facts About a Person's Life) that Family Historian comes with a standard set of event and attribute types, and that you can record these on the Facts tab of the Property Box. There is, however, another set that is pre-installed, called the Extended Set. This set is provided primarily for compatibility with some other genealogy programs (when importing data from those programs). By default, all fact types in the Extended Set are hidden. However, they are available for use at any time, if required.
To view the Extended Set of fact types, open the Fact Types dialog (e.g. click Fact Types on the Tools menu). Set the Fact Set field to 'Extended Set' and tick the Show Hidden box on the right-side of the dialog. Select all the fact types you wish to make use of (which might be all of them), and click the Show button. This will mean that in the future, these fact types will be available to use, when you click on the <more fact types...> menu command, when adding facts on the Facts tab of the Property Box.
The Extended Set of events and attributes, which are included when Family Historian is installed, are:
You can also create as many custom events and attributes as you want (either for Individuals or Families) - see How to Create a Custom Fact (Event or Attribute). Once created, these custom events and attributes will be added to events and attribute lists, so they can be selected, added and used exactly like standard events and attributes.
