| Go To ► | This submenu provides commands for going back and forward (only supported in the context of the Focus Window), going to a record (in the Records Window) and showing the file root as focus person in the Focus Window (equivalent to pressing the Home button on the main application toolbar). |
|---|---|
| Display in Focus Window | Displays the selected person as focus person in the Focus Window. |
| More Workspace Windows ► | Displays an option to open each of the other workspace windows. |
| Record Lists ► |
Activates the Records Window and displays the appropriate tab for records of the following types:
|
| Special Records ► | Each Family Historian data file has only one header record, and should normally have at most one submitter and one submission record. This submenu has commands to open the Property Box and display these records. If there is no submitter or submission record you will be asked if you want to create one. |
| Named Lists ► | Provides quick access to any Named List. Named Lists are viewed in the Named Lists pane which is displayed, when enabled, on the right side of the Records Window. |
| Saved Charts | Lists all chart files belonging to the current project. You can open them or delete them, or import/export them. |
| Fan Charts | Quarter-size, half-size or full-size, showing up to 10 generations. Fan charts' appearance and content are all fully configurable. Boxes in fan charts can be individually selected, so you can view each person’s record details in the Property Box, and update them dynamically, just like any other Family Historian diagram. You can add fan charts to ordinary diagrams and you can add ordinary trees to fan charts diagrams. |
| Standard Diagram Types ► | This submenu contains a list of standard diagrams that can be displayed. |
| Custom Diagram Types ► | This submenu contains a list of custom diagram types that you have previously created yourself. There is also a menu command for deleting custom diagrams on this submenu. |
| Standard Queries ► | Family Historian comes with a number of standard queries - each of which has an entry in this submenu. You can either run them from here, or from the Query Window. To see a description of what each query does, open the query in the Query Window and view its description in the General tab of that window. |
| Custom Queries ► | Any custom queries that you have created will have an entry in this sub-menu and can be run from here. Custom queries are created in the Query Window. They can also be run from there. |
| Navigation Bar | Shows or hides the Navigation Bar |
| Record Links | Shows all records that have links to the selected record. You can also 'go to' those records. |
| Properties |
Opens the Property Box to view the selected record. Tip: A quick way to open the Property Box for a selected individual is to press ALT+Enter. Also, in many contexts, if you right-click on a record, there will be a 'Properties' option. |
