Family Historian Tour

Pictures and Multimedia

In the Multimedia Window you can double-click on a face to open the Property Dialog for that person and see all their details, if the face has previously been linked to a record. In Family Historian, selecting a person from a photograph is just like selecting a person from a list - you can open a diagram for them, or a report, or do anything else that you might want to do with any other record selection.

Creating links between faces and records is easy. Click on the button on the toolbar - then click-and-drag on the picture to select the face you want. When you release the mouse button, you will be invited to select the record you wish to link the face to. If you didn't get the shape quite right first time, don't worry. Its easy to adjust the 'linked area' or move it.

You can tell whether a face (or any other part of the picture) has a link associated with it, because as you move the mouse over the picture, a dotted box will appear wherever there is a 'linked area'. Alternatively, you can click on any of the people in the list in the middle pane on the left side to select them and identify them in the picture.
